Niche Releases 2018 Best Places to Live in Every State and Metro

March 7, 2018–PITTSBURGH–Niche, the leading site for helping people choose schools and neighborhoods, has just released its 2018 Best Places to Live rankings. This is the fourth year that Niche has produced these rankings.

The new Best Places to Live rankings explore 228 cities and 15,000 towns and neighborhoods to find the best places to live based on factors like cost of living, local public schools, crime, job opportunities, local amenities, and more. Data for these rankings and grades was analyzed from the U.S. Census, FBI, CDC, and Department of Education, along with millions of resident reviews.

For the second consecutive year, Carmel, Indiana is our #1 Best Place to Live in America and Ann Arbor, MI is our #1 Best City to Live in America.

In addition to updated data and more reviews, our 2018 Best Places to Live rankings include a new factor: Walkability. This Walkability factor uses data about commuting by walking, access to neighborhood amenities like bars and restaurants, and safety.

“No matter what you’re looking for in a place to live, it’s our priority to help all kinds of people–millennials, families, or retirees–find the right fit for them,” said Luke Skurman, CEO of Niche. “With so much data and millions of reviews, we’re proud to be helping over 50 million people annually.”
