Parent/Student Surveys on Culture & Diversity Niche survey responses scored on a 1-5 scale regarding student culture and diversity at the school. Self-reported by Niche users 25.0%
Free/Reduced Lunch Percentage of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch (closer to the national mean is better). National Center for Education Statistics 20.0%
Gender Diversity Percentage of students belonging to the most represented gender (closer to 50% is better). U.S. Department of Education 10.0%

This ranking assesses 13,357 U.S. public high schools. The same methodology is used to produce the Niche Diversity Grade for each ranked school as well as additional schools. Statistics obtained from the U.S. Department of Education represent the most recent data available, usually from 2014–2016, as self-reported by the schools.
